Let Us Introduce Ourselves

Dr. Raouf Alshahwany, BDS, DDS

Dr. Alshahwany obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree "B.D.S" from the University of Baghdad College of Dentistry in 1996. He has extensive experience in dentistry through practicing in multiple countries. In 2002, he received the American National Board Dental Examinations certificate while working in California. Dr. Alshahwany went on to persue his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Western Ontario and has been practicing in Ottawa since 2010. He attends continuing education courses on a regular basis to keep up to date with the latest methods and materials in dentistry.

Paula O'Riordan, CDA II

Paula got her introduction into the dental profession at the age of 13 when she was hired by a dentist in her home town where she worked during the summer from grade 9 to grade 13. Paula was then accepted to Algonquin College and graduated in 1985.

In 1998 Paula returned to Algonquin College and graduated with honours from the Preventive Dental Assisting Program and went on to recieve a Level II Diploma. Paula belongs to the Dental Assisting Association and the Ontario Dental Association. Her interests include the area of Geriatric

Dentistry as well as cooking, knitting and shopping for antiques.

Amy Giroux, RDH

Amy graduated with honours from Algonquin College as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2001.  She returned to Algonquin in 2010 to work part time as a Clinical Dental Hygiene instructor. Amy joined our team part time in January 2013 and quickly gained full time employment. When not at work Amy is a busy mom of a little boy.
